Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 February 2026. This document explains which cookies Ralton Review places on your device, the purpose of each category, and the controls available to you.

01 — Definition

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your browser or device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, to remember your preferences across visits, and to provide the site's operator with aggregate information about how content is accessed and read.

Cookies do not contain personally identifiable information on their own. However, when combined with other data — such as an account login — they may form part of a data profile. Ralton Review does not operate user accounts or collect login credentials.

Cookies are distinct from web storage objects (localStorage, sessionStorage), pixel tags, and device fingerprinting. This policy covers HTTP cookies specifically. Where other tracking mechanisms are in use, they are identified in the relevant category section below.

02 — Usage

How we use cookies

Ralton Review is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday wellness practices. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body. Cookies on this site serve three purposes: ensuring the site functions as expected; remembering your consent choices so we do not ask again on each visit; and collecting aggregate, anonymised data about which articles are read and for how long.

We do not use cookies to build individual advertising profiles, to sell data to third parties, to track your activity across other websites, or to identify you by name or contact detail. Any analytics data we collect is aggregated and does not identify individual readers.

The legal basis for placing cookies that are strictly necessary for site function is our legitimate interest in delivering a working website. The legal basis for analytics and preference cookies is your consent, expressed through the cookie consent banner shown on your first visit.

04 — Third Parties

Third-party cookies

Some cookies on this site are set by third-party services loaded as part of the page — for example, embedded fonts from Google Fonts, animation libraries, and analytics services. These third parties have their own privacy policies and cookie practices, which are independent of Ralton Review.

Ralton Review does not sell access to reader data to third-party advertisers. The third-party services currently in use on this site are:

Google Fonts

Loaded via fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log the request including your IP address. No persistent cookie is typically set by this service in standard browser configurations. Review Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy for full details.

Google Analytics

Used to collect aggregate, anonymised visitor data. IP anonymisation is enabled. Data is retained for 14 months. Analytics cookies are only placed after you provide consent. You can opt out at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

jsDelivr CDN

Used to load open-source interface libraries (Swiper, FontAwesome, Fancybox, Tippy). jsDelivr may log request metadata including your IP address. No persistent advertising cookie is set by this service.

Cloudflare CDN

Used to load animation and charting libraries (GSAP, CountUp.js). Cloudflare may set technical cookies to distinguish legitimate requests from automated traffic. These are strictly functional and do not contain personal data.

We do not use embedded social-media widgets, retargeting pixels, or any advertising network cookies on this publication.

05 — Your Controls

Managing your cookie preferences

You have several options for controlling cookies placed by this site.

A

Cookie Settings panel

Use the Cookie Settings link in the page footer to reopen the consent banner at any time and revise your preferences. Changes take effect immediately.

B

Browser settings

Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings menu. Blocking all cookies will prevent the consent preference from being saved, so the banner will reappear on each visit. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled without impairing site function.

C

Google Analytics opt-out

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your visit data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This operates independently of the cookie consent banner on this site.

Note on functional impact

Declining analytics and preference cookies has no impact on your ability to read any article on Ralton Review. All editorial content remains fully accessible regardless of your cookie preferences. Only strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to display correctly.

06 — Retention

Retention periods

Cookie retention periods are listed in the category tables above. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies expire on the date shown in their respective table rows, or earlier if you clear your browser storage or withdraw consent.

Where analytics data is transferred to Google Analytics servers, retention in that service is set to 14 months, after which it is automatically deleted. Ralton Review does not retain copies of analytics data beyond what is visible in the standard Google Analytics interface.

Data associated with strictly necessary cookies (consent records) is retained for 12 months from the date consent is given. After 12 months, you will be asked to confirm your preferences again through the consent banner.

07 — Policy Updates

Updates to this policy

Ralton Review may update this Cookie Policy when new cookies are introduced, when third-party services change, or when applicable regulations require revision. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when material changes were last made.

Significant changes — for example, introducing a new analytics provider or a new category of cookie — will be communicated via a revised consent banner on the site. Minor changes, such as updating a cookie duration or clarifying descriptive language, are made without separate notification.

Continued use of Ralton Review after a policy update constitutes acknowledgement of the revised terms for strictly necessary cookies. For consent-dependent categories, any material change will prompt a fresh consent request.
